Sony Santa Monica design manager David Hewitt has said in an interview that God of War: Ascension will not feature violence against women.
Following criticism that Ascension's E3 trailer was needlessly violent, Hewitt has opened up about the violence in God of War.
"There are some things we've pulled back from," Hewitt said. "I think where this has been an issue is with violence against women - the team's pulled back from some of that and assessed that a little more carefully.
"There are usually particular things that bring another sort of resonance that individuals don't need to get directly into. This isn't about statement-making because consider. It's about fleshing out this character. "
During the interview together with IGN Hewitt goes on to be able to persist that Kratos doesn't relish the particular violence he or she dishes out there.
